Who Are We?

Who Are We?

Welcome to J. Lea & Co Design!! We are Jobi and Courtni Fontenot. We started J. Lea & Co Design out of our home in Lubbock, Texas in the summer of 2020. I know what you're thinking... during COVID? Yes, we started this business during quarantine and also while I was pregnant with our firstborn, Blakelee.

I, Courtni, am originally from a little town in eastern New Mexico where I spent most of my life, and also where Jobi and I met. I graduated with a Master's in Communicative Disorders and began my career as a speech-language pathologist. I continue to pursue this career working with individuals of all ages while also working on our business.

Jobi's dad was in the military, so he moved around frequently during his childhood. He lived in some pretty fun places, like HAWAII!!! Jobi graduated with a Bachelor's of Applied Arts and Science with an emphasis in Business. He also obtained an Associate's in Welding Technology. Jobi has always had a passion for business, which is where I gradually learned about and became passionate about business as well.

Jobi and I got married in July of 2015 and moved to Lubbock in 2019. Jobi and I actively pursued business opportunities, as we knew this was a major dream of ours. We spent much time in prayer seeking out a business that we would both enjoy and one in which we would thrive. Jobi actually kind of stumbled upon this business venture, and we decided to take the plunge. We will share more about this later; however, we knew we wanted to pursue this opportunity while I was pregnant in hopes that we could spend more time working from home once Blakelee was born.

Blakelee Laine Fontenot was born in November 2020, and guess what!! Jobi was able to stay home and work full-time on our business by this point. I am still working part-time as a speech-language pathologist while spending more time at home with the family and working on the business. Thank you so so much for being such amazing customers and supporting us in this journey to making our dreams a reality!
